About Nancy

As a free-lance book editor, author and coach with over 15 years of experience in the commercial book industry, I have helped hundreds of people reach their writing and publishing goals.

My background includes a BA in English from the University of Massachusetts and an MA in English and Theater Arts from Columbia University, as well as study abroad at Oxford University and a TESOL certificate in English as a Second Language. I started out as an editorial assistant with Viking Press and later became a medical editor for the University of California at San Francisco. Along the way I picked up skills as a grant writer, advertising copy writer, and curriculum developer, working on projects to increase education and awareness for people to improve their lives. More recently, I received extensive training in coaching people to achieve their goals through Landmark Education leadership programs, where I led seminars on personal growth and productivity to over 500 people.

In addition to being a free-lance book editor, I am currently an Adjunct Instructor in English as a Second Language at Santa Barbara City College. I recently co-hosted an Internet radio show with Kat Tansey, Finding Magic in Midlife, interviewing authors of important books for mid-life women. I am a member of the board of the Santa Barbara chapter of Association of Women in Communication (AWC) and live in Santa Barbara with my husband Richard. We travel between coasts to visit with our daughter and granddaughter, who live in Vermont.
